Quick Tip: Apple ID and Email Login Methods

Quick Tip Tuesday! We've talked about different ways to login into editing a site from non-Apple devices using Collaborator Codes. But what if you want to get into your account, and see all the different sites you've made? Here's a trick to getting into your account with just using your Apple ID.

To see more about Collaborator Codes, check out:

So this next trick is more in-depth, but still fairly easy. Say for example you didn't know you signed up using your Apple ID. Or maybe you misplaced your phone (I mean, who hasn't :smirk: ), and don't want to completely change your login method. Or you want to be able to work from the Web, and don't have an Apple computer.

:bulb: How is this different from using a Collaborator Code? Collaborator Codes only get you access to edit that specific site. If you have multiple sites, merging accounts will get you access to all your sites. :bulb:

Combine your Apple ID account with your email-login account! Here's how:

  1. Create your second using your email address and a secure password (no Password1234s, you guys! We've all seen that infomercial.)

  2. Chat into Support and ask them to merge your two accounts.

  3. Support will do it, on their end! Then you log out and test your new login, to make sure everything's correct.

Some helpful tips to know prior to escalating to Support:

  1. Have all your login info ready! Give them your Apple ID email address. Did you use a private relay but don't know what it is? You can check in your Apple Settings:

Settings app > [Your Name] > iCloud > Hide My Email > Universe (get a screenshot of the email there)

  1. Specify which account is going to be your primary login method. Do you want to merge your Apple ID account into your email account? Or the other way around? Both login methods will work, but in the backend that information will be shifted according to what you want! :bulb: This step isn't necessarily for you guys; it's more to help the Support team make sure everything's moved the right way :bulb:

Boom, done! You now have two login methods! Hope this helps you guys- have any questions? Leave 'em below and I'll get them answered asap :muscle:
