This might be a far cry, but I feel like this is such a huge opportunity for Universe to capitalize on the indie musician that doesn’t want to go the traditional route of using an aggregator to get their music on Spotify, Apple Music, etc. ESPECIALLY since .music domains are launching in the next year.
Just thinking aloud here:
-Basically a Spotify-style music player with video integration capabilities. You can play an album and lock your phone when you’re at the gym. If you like the song you can unlock and view the music video along with it which starts as a marquee in the background (just like Spotify) but is then capable of going full screen.
-The ability to tip or send crypto.
-User authentication for people to buy new releases that may have a paywall (similar to Louis CK’s website design).
-Last but not least. If you don’t want to make people pay for your music- having the ability to show ADS on your site would be so, so, so awesome.
