Artists, direct to consumer.

TL:DR universe does not give you access to .index for your own website. If you want to share your music (or your audio) on your site, without using a terrible embedded player like SoundCloud or YouTube, use https://whyp.it/

For about 6 months I’ve been searching for a way to embed private audio on my website lifeaftereverything.net

Several weeks ago, I submitted a thread to this community looking for a solution like this.
Subsequently I was suggested services like Elfsight. Would not recommend. You want control over your music, where it goes, and who has access, etc.

Direct to consumer is the only way to go moving forward. With so much controversy surround distributors like Distrokid, Bandcamp, Tunecore, and SoundCloud alike, why pay to give control over your art to some faceless corporation? The only benefit I can find is that these organizations control a large part of the market share over the digital consumption of audio.
Here’s the thing; every single person wants good music/art, and will go just about anywhere to find it… Even your website.

Host your own music and stop thinking about it. If you have the coin pay the creator I think it’s like $24 a year, however the service is free. It’s an independent dude who cooked this whole website up and he is pretty responsive in the discord to suggestions and bug reports. In addition, audio can be played with the phone screen off and the website still open. Also, the website automatically creates a simple embed link to use with Code Block. What more could you want?

This is the perfect solution for me and I feel literally every single independent artist on the face of the earth. Get busy, make your site visually appealing, and share your great art!
